About Perfect Summary
Perfect Summary gives you the GIST so you can decide if you want the REST.
The best podcasts and books are long. A three-hour conversation with a neuroscientist, a founder or an athlete can hold a handful of ideas that change how you sleep, work, eat or love, but few of us have three hours. Perfect Summary listens and reads for you, and hands you the heart of it in minutes.
Why we built this
It started with an ordinary morning. You wake up and four of your favorite podcast hosts have each released a new episode, every one between one and four hours long. They all sound worth hearing, and there is no way to fit them all into the day. What if you could read the gist of each one over coffee, then choose the one or two you actually want to sit down and listen to?
That is the whole idea behind Perfect Summary. It isn't meant to replace the conversations we love. It's meant to help you find your way to the right ones.
The second idea grew from the first. Once you've read enough summaries, you start to notice the same questions coming up across very different shows: sleep, focus, money, faith, raising kids. So what do lots of experts actually say about any one of them? Where do they agree, where do they disagree, and what should you do about it? That question became Insights, and it's the part of the site we're proudest of.
What you'll find here
- Podcast summaries. New episodes from the shows we follow (Huberman Lab, The School of Greatness, The Mel Robbins Podcast, Lex Fridman, The Joe Rogan Experience and more) are summarized as they come out: a high-level overview, the themes the conversation explores, a deep dive into the main ideas, and a link to the full episode.
- Book summaries. The big ideas from popular books across genres, plus every book of the Bible in order, with a link to get the book.
- Listen or watch. Every summary comes as a narrated audio version and a short animated video, on the site, on the Perfect Summary podcast and on YouTube.
- Insights. One specific point per article, drawn from what several experts said across different podcasts and books: where they agree, where they don't, and what to do about it, with every claim linked to the episode it came from.
- Topics. Sleep, fitness, nutrition, mental health, money, relationships and more: what experts across different shows and books say about the same subject, side by side.
- In your inbox. Get new summaries by email: everything, or only the podcasts, topics and book genres you care about.
- Your own summaries. Summarize any episode, article or document privately, with audio and video.
How summaries are made
Each summary starts from the full episode or text. AI does the heavy lifting of transcribing, summarizing, narrating and animating, and our pipeline checks the results: quotes must appear in the source, videos must be real animations of a proper length, and nothing half-finished is published. Summaries are written to capture the ideas faithfully, not to replace the original.
For creators
Perfect Summary is independent commentary and discovery. We always credit the show, the guests and the author, link to the original, and never reuse your artwork. Many readers go on to listen to the full episode or buy the book. Want a show summarized that we don't cover yet? Suggest it.
